Concrete Stairs Calculator

The calculator multiplies the number of steps by width, tread, and riser. Each step is treated as a solid rectangle, which overstates a cut-stringer flight. The result is a quantity estimate, not a concrete order.

Assumptions

Tread and riser are entered in inches and converted to feet. Volume in cubic feet is steps × width × tread × riser. Cubic yards equal that volume divided by 27. The number of steps must be a whole number greater than zero.

A real stair is usually a saw-tooth, not a stack of boxes. This estimate is intentionally conservative. Landings, thickened treads, and closed risers against a wall are not included. Check the rise and run against the stair rules that apply to your house. This page does not size those dimensions.
