The calculator treats a landscape curb or a mow strip as a long rectangular bar. Length is in feet. Width and height are in inches. The result is a quantity estimate, not a concrete order.

Measure the rectangle of the section, not a decorative batter. A gutter pan is a second rectangle if it is poured with the curb.

Assumptions

Width and height are divided by 12. Volume in cubic feet is length × width × height. Cubic yards equal that volume divided by 27. A 40 ft mow strip that is 6 inches by 6 inches is 10 cubic feet, which is 0.37 cubic yards.

Empty fields and values of zero or less are rejected. If the curb closes a loop around a bed, measure the centerline once so corners are not counted twice. City curb-and-gutter with a sloped pan is not this rectangle. Split the face and the pan, or ask the office that published the detail.
